Eureka!

Eureka - new TV series on SciFi.comAbout a week ago, I saw a wierd advert on a website for a “Cryo Kennel“. Thinking, thats wierd… lets see what thats all about, I clicked on it, much to my surprise, I ended up at http://www.scifi.com/eureka/.

Turns out it was a quirky advertisement for a new Science Fiction TV series called Eureka.

So what is it… according to SciFi.com, Eureka is a ’special’ town somewhere in the USA, where all the smartest scientific people reside. Purposely built, maintained, and secluded just for them, so that they can work hard on new scientific marvels and inventions. You can read more here.

I haven’t seen any episodes of Eureka yet, only the shorts on SciFi.com. It looks like quite a good series, with an interesting and unique story-line. Much to my surprise I found that SciFi.com offers ‘webisodes’ and the ability to watch the full length pilot of Eureka right off their website. Suffice to say, I was a bit disgruntled however when met with the message “We’re sorry, but the clip you selected isn’t available from your location. Please select another clip.” GRRRRR!!

So not only do we have crappy television stations in Australia, who can’t ever seem to play an entire season of any Science Fiction series without messing it up, or cutting it off half way through, but we can’t even watch episodes online. No wonder piracy of Television programs in Australia is so popular! It’s that bad, its even been in the mass media (this one is a really good write up, go read it!).

Oh well, looks like I’m just going to have to wait in anticipation, and hope like hell this series makes it to FTA here in Australia. SciFi channel… please come to Australia!
